The vast majority of people really can't believe their ability to see after Lasic eye surgery. The difference between seeing before and saying after is the stark contrast. Just as many people, glasses are just something I don't like to wear. They definitely were needed when I was driving, playing sports, taking in a TV show, or during my favorite hobby. Eye contacts simply wouldn't fit the bill since they really didn't work for me.

 

So when this numerical surgery came along called LASIK, which made news headlines throughout the country, I started getting more interested in searching out this particular procedure. I seem to do everything right to get the best value. No, I wasn't interested in any discounts that offered cheap quality surgery. These were my eyes I was dealing with I wanted something that was safe and of high quality. I finally found one in Los Angeles that seemed to be of good quality in one of the major prestigious hospitals. In only a few minutes, the doctor used a special laser that corrected my vision from terrible to about 20/15 (Lasic eye surgery). For my right eye, it went from terrible to about 20/40. Of course, the results for that right eye or not terribly satisfying, but were much better than what I had before. It was simply amazing, I really didn't need glasses and I could see signs and text from a few blocks away. It was great.

 

However, in a short time, around a month, an unfortunate thing happened after the lasic surgery. My vision began to change in my left eye. It slowly slipped over time to a vision of around 20/25... a relatively disheartening circumstance for me. Then for my left eye, regression of vision went to about 20/50, a little worse than the minimum vision needed to pass the driver license test. Years later after I had Lasik surgery, my once decent vision head eventually deteriorated in a major way that my doctor had to do a Lasik surgery touchup.

 

It just so happens that touch ups or Lasic vision correction enhancements are often required by a large number of LASIK patients each year. In 2001, of all the 835,000 people that went through the Lasic procedure, a 5.8 percentage of those people needed to have a surgery and enhancement more than once. So apparently, many people have to have added surgery later after this procedure.

 

 

LASIK facts

• This optical operration known as lasik surgery gets performed on a very sensitive part of the eye.
• People have had lasic surgery in the hundreds of thousands and in most every case it was successful.
• Just like in every other case of surgical procedures, there exists possible complications and risks.
• Perfect vision may not be possible with the LASIK in every case. It has been reported that seven out of 10 cases, patients achieve 20/20 vision. However 20/20 does not mean necessarily perfect vision.
• If you are looking to correct your vision when for far distances, you'll likely need glasses to read at about the age of 45.
• Since this operation is relatively new, it is too early to know if there are any long-term bad effects around five years afterthe procedure.
• Reversal of LASIK vision correction is not possible.
• In most cases, insurance will not cover the surgery.
• In some cases, the patient may need additional op often called "enhancements"--this is done to get the best vision possible after having LASIK surgery.

Lasic surgery in Florida can be done in many places, however, the larger cities like Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, and Jacksonville will likely have doctors with more experience. Lasic surgery in TN or Tenessee basically goes along the same way...Chatanooga, Knoxville, Nashville..Lasic surgery costs can run anywhere from $400 to 2000 or $3000 per eye. It is better to not pay the smallest amount because you usually get what you pay for. Non-invasive lasic surgery in Los Angeles is possible yet only go with the top doctors for special ops.
